All That Jazz

Created by Draconum Studio

The 1920s occult romantasy-mystery LitRPG novel you’ve been waiting to read, and the TTRPG (table-top role-playing game) rules & system written for it, to let you play along! Weaver's Vintage is the novel, about two women caught up in a mystery, trying to solve - or resolve - a curse before it catches them up in its coils of dark magic and not-so-happily-ever-after. Jazz is a narrative-driven TTRPG (tabletop roleplaying game) system, designed and written to run the story of Weaver's Vintage - and any number of other stories, too. Both Weaver's Vintage, and the Jazz rulebook are available as physical (softcover) or digital (EPUB or PDF) versions; the Jazz Incident Book (adventures and scenarios) is available as a digital (PDF). Please note that we cannot ship physical pledges to Cambodia, India, Iraq, Israel, Kiribati, The Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (aka North Korea), Lebanon, or the Russian Federation; orders for physical items from those countries will receive a POD (Print-On-Demand) code to redeem through DriveThruRPG instead.

Latest Updates from Our Project:

All That Jazz: 5 days til launch day!
about 1 month ago – Fri, Sep 04, 2026 at 09:38:01 PM

Five days until All That Jazz launches officially!

While this is very exciting - and it is! - it has been brought to my attention that in my last update I said "Launching September 1st". That, clearly, was not in fact true. Launch day is Septermber 10, and any other date is the result of brainfade and a very busy month planned this September. Which is to say - oops. My bad.

Chapter one of Weaver's Vintage is written, edited, and ready to post on launch day. Chapter 2 is in progress, and our outline and play-through has reached chapter 8. Jean and Lucy are both starting to investigate a suspicious, three-year-old cold case murder which is - not that they know this yet - linked to the cult and the curse. Dorian (the vampire) is flirting and being silly, which is basically what he does, and the various cult members are conniving and scheming.

The Jazz playtest continues apace, and is going very well. The players are testing out the Incident which I'll be running at PAX AU in October, looking for a missing child and discovering some of the secretive cult activity in Astenovica along the way. There may (or may not) be werewolves.

For anyone in the Perth region (Western Australia), Michele and I are also running a LitRPG writing workshop on September 12, and again on October 17, at the Old Midland Courthouse. Book in here!

In preparation for that, we've been reading a lot of LitRPG fiction, and we will have some reccommendatiosn for you in the next update. So many interestiong ways to include the System in the narrative! We still like our System, though - the Mists have so much potential to be creepy and helpful at the same time.

All the best, and looking forward to Septermber 10!

All That Jazz is launching Sept 1st!
about 1 month ago – Tue, Aug 25, 2026 at 12:21:50 AM

We've been hard at work getting ready for launch-day, and we're super excited to be getting so close now! One week to go!

All That Jazz is a beautiful monster of a project, combining our LitRPG novel and complementary role-playing game system, so there's plenty to do. We've been writing, editing, playtesting, and designing extras and add-ons nonstop!

As part fo all that effort, we've been cooking up some special bonus items for you:

  • Anyone who follows the project before launch, and then backs at a physical pledge tier will receive a free Astenovica postcard with their pledge! (If you back at a digital tier and later upgrade to physical, that still counts, and you'll still get the postcard.)

  • In addition, anyone who backs within the first 48 hours (and at a physical tier, because of shipping complications) will receive a free early bird exclusive character bookmark set - these bookmarks are not available anywhere else, so jump in quickly to get yours! (If you back at a digital tier in the first 48 hours, and then upgrade to a physical tier later, you will still qualify for the bookmarks.)

Chapter 1 of Weaver's Vintage is written, but hasn't yet been fully edited... but it will be! We'll be posting a draft version on launch day for you all to read. We'll also be posting our edited drafts of each chapter as we get it finished throughout the campaign, so look out for those posts!

We're also excited to announce a cross-collaboration with Dead God Rising, a dark science fiction thriller set in the 32nd century. If you enjoy the occult themes and dark shadows that lurk under Weaver's Vintage, and you'd like to support another incredible project, go check them out: https://www.backerkit.com/c/projects/seain-dunne/dead-god-rising

If you back both campaigns, you'll qualify for exclusive, free rewards! A Drowned World postcard, and an exclusive Incident for use with the Jazz game that lets you play in the world of Dead God Rising!

Hope you're all having an amazing week!

All the best,
Danielle and Michele
